Emmy Award Nominations Announced/Game of Thrones Leads the Charge- TV News

emmy-awards

TV’s biggest night is coming and the Emmy Award Nominations have now been announced.  Leading the charge is HBO’s TV phenomenon “Game of Thrones” with 24 award nominations.  Without “Breaking Bad” on the ballet this year, this could be “Thrones” chance to capture some Emmy glory.  The controversial 5th season hasn’t seemed to be hurt in its award chances as some might have thought after the controversy this past season has garnered.  I would like to have seen “Daredevil” get some love from the Emmy’s but it doesn’t look to be the year for them.  Many felt that “Empire” and “The Americans” deserved nominations (I only just started the latter).  It is also surprising to see “The Big Bang Theory” not on the list of Outstanding Comedy Series.  It was nice to see “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” make the list.  A show I find quite enjoyable.  I am also surprised not to see HBO’s final season of “Boardwalk Empire” honored with an Outstanding Drama Series nominations.   The full list of nominations is listed down below.
